Pat Long has so much compassion for animals. She takes time to listen and explain. I have a new puppy who is a year old that I was getting neutered. I took Moonshadow in for pre blood work and stool sample and she followed up right away with results. She went over what to expect since I had my concerns about him wearing a cone to keep from licking the surgical area. He's already 75lbs and full of energy so she suggested I try the donut which he didn't mind at all. I had visions of him flipping upside down trying to pull it off all night long... I went over food he was eating and she was very informative as to healthy brands and amounts!
Most of all Moonshadow really took a liking to her and that tells me my dog trusts her and feels like she's a friend. The clinic is full of nice people and are able to get you in. My last vet became so busy that when my puppy was choking on a stick they could not see him... I had to drive 50 min to an emergency clinic. That is when I found VCA Animal hospital on Ramon Road and this wonderful veterinarian!!!! Pat Long (She personally cares) "Thank you for the wonderful care you gave to Moonshadow!!!!"

I am extremely upset at VCA! I called yesterday about neuter and spay my dogs. I was told that they did not have any appointments anytime soon, but after a few minutes the lady said that they had a cancellation so that she would be able to fit the dogs in today. Then she went on to say that they could only do the surgery if they do the physical too. When my partner took the dogs this morning they rushed and took the dogs inside without any explanation as to what was going to be done. When the lady came back and my partner talked to her he was told that his was only a physical that they did not have any neuter or spay until the end of July. When my partner wanted to cancel the physical he was told that they had already completed the physical that it was too late. Instead they insisted that the dogs needed additional vaccines when all vaccines are up to date. This cost us $168 without really accomplishing what we needed to. I called very upset and asked to speak with a supervisor but was told that none was available and that I would have to leave a message. I left a message and have yet to hear back from the supervisor.

Dr. Kunz has treated all but 2 of our sighthounds, 9 Greyhounds & 1 Sloughi mix. Took us awhile to find a Vet in Coachella Valley who was a straight shooter. I know if I ask is it "that time" he will be honest & tell us yes, it's a good decision. We never ever want to prolong our babies misery. My first end of life encounter with Dr. Kunz was with Jordan. He had cancer in right shoulder. He'd been getting treatment from an oncologist who was good & Jordy loved going there! But by his groans etc. I knew his pain was worse. So in a change of primary Veterinary I went to Dr. Kunz. When I made the final decision he told me thank you as they had just seen a dog that morning with cancer too who's time had long passed but the human couldn't let go. I knew from that moment we were on the same page, a huge relief! Thank u Dr. Kunz 4 ur wisdom & invaluable experience! Yes, he's very much a part of our family too. (We see him a lot-having 2-4 hounds at a time!) ❤ Now Dr. K's led the way thru Covid & 2020 too!!! I miss our face to face tho....🤷♀️

Dr. Kunz is totally dedicated to his customers and their pets. He has been known to literally sleep over night at his clinic caring for a pet in jeopardy. In fact, he did this for our dear Sophia who passed away in November, 2014 of the disease IMHA. Dr. Kunz stayed with her through several blood transfusions, even it caused him to watch over her at night. My husband consider Dr. Kunz like family. He is the Pests Best Veternian.Mary Humes
